The upper part of the 2011-2013 bumper cover clips in to a bracket built into the headlights. The 2014+ headlights dont have this bracket built in to the headlights. Therefore, Jeep has put a stand-alone bracket (68223469AA and 68223470AA) under the headlights for the 2014+ models. If you don't get these brackets, I don't think your 2014 bumper cover will have anything to clip in to under the headlights.

Also...i think the front bumper absorber may be different in the 2014 model as well.

I'm going through the same process as we speak.

Thoughts?

Peter
Are the two parts listed needed or one or the other or 2 of both?

I did a dry fit last weekend of my 2014 bumper and grille to my 2011 Limited, and can tell you this:

The "side brackets" which bolt to the fender and lock the corners of the bumper in place will ABSOLUTELY have to be changed to accept the 2014 bumper without modification.

The "main brackets" which go under the 2014 headlights will also need to be installed...otherwise there's nothing to grab the 2014 bumper.

The 2011 absorber WILL DO without modification, ie accept the 2014 bumper, but I find it leaves "wiggle room" for the 2014 bumper and it can rattle. I'd get the absorber too.

Do it right, do it once.

Id just modify the factory harness like you guys, but I have the lifetime max care on mine so I don't want to modify the harness for fear of being denied claims in the future - whether they are related to harness modifications or not. If I have an adapter harness I can always swap the '11 lamps back if I had to.
