I've been hoarding parts and am in the process of doing a. Complete 2011 overland to 2014 conversion. Just thought there may be some users interested. A lot of people have talked about the headlight conversion well here's the whole shabang. Attached is my original vehicle and my anticipated endstate. Here's the parts list:
Lower fascia - $214.00 (purchased)
Leveling kit - $180.00 (purchased)
Fascia - $250.00 (purchased)
Projector Fog light L & R - $142.98 (purchased)
Fog light bezels L & R - $50.00 (purchased)
Lower grill - $62.00 (purchased)
Upper honeycomb grill - $58.00 (purchased)
Grill - $450.00 (purchased)
Grill inserts- $99.00 (purchased)
LED 2000 LMH fog lights $99.00 (purchased)
Class III receiver - $349.00 (purchased)
VG shark fin antenna - $89.00 (purchased)
Interior lighting - $9.00 (purchased)
Lower spats - $70.00 (purchased)
Lower appliqué - $246.00 (purchased)
Lower grill - $68.00 (purchased)
Chrome tow hooks - $318.00 (purchased)

------------------------------------------

Bi-xenon lights-$1000.00

Paintable wheel flares- $280.00

------------------------------------------
Spent-$1841.00

Most of the parts were purchased from eBay, Southern jeep and dodge of Virginia Beach, and AllMoparParts.com: Buy Mopar Car Truck Parts | Genuine Discounted Mopar OEM Auto Parts | Mopar Accessories. When I get a chance I will upload the part ID's. And yes the front mounting points are the same

Subscribed. As noted in the other thread, that is not your jeep in the "endstate" due to the FCW.

Whose headlight harness are you using?

Please keep us updated with progress and thanks for all the information.

That's correct, just to clarify. That is a generic google image with what I intend to have my vehicle look like after mods.

I will be converting it myself using a plug and play with some support from other users on here.

*****UPDATE***** Front end is in the paint lab right now. I ended up using maaco; the price quoted was $200 a very reasonable price for a 3 stage paint job. I know Maaco doesn't have a great history, however I looked at before and after vehicles (not photos, actual cars) painted and he did a great job. I'm a stickler for details, and I can say he was flawless and hope the same results come from mine. It leaves the shop Thursday and I will post pictures once I get them.

What I'm not seeing on your parts list the new bumper brackets and the absorber. Do you plan on changing those?

The upper part of the 2011-2013 bumper cover clips in to a bracket built into the headlights. The 2014+ headlights dont have this bracket built in to the headlights. Therefore, Jeep has put a stand-alone bracket (68223469AA and 68223470AA) under the headlights for the 2014+ models. If you don't get these brackets, I don't think your 2014 bumper cover will have anything to clip in to under the headlights.

Also...i think the front bumper absorber may be different in the 2014 model as well.

I'm going through the same process as we speak.

Thoughts?

Peter

Subscribing as well since I'm looking to do this as well. I'm currently working towards a plug and play harness for the 2014 lamps. I cannibalized a set of leveling motors from a Durango to get the connectors. My brother is working to try and source them (he's in the custom car trade - does custom paint, electrical, interiors, etc) though so making additional harnesses could be possible.

What are you doing about the lamps? Modifying stock harness or were you able to source a plug and play harness to adapt the factory harness?

****update**** bumper is out of the paint lab ( I had it painted through maaco for $200! And I lt was well worth it pics to come) I haven't yet recieved the headlights. Hey peter I will be purchasing that part as well just forgot to list it. as for the absorber it will be cannibalized and cut to accommodate. The fog lights I currently run are LEDs through a ballast so plan on purchasing the 2014 H11 LED bulbs and the existing harness will work.
Peter balias and I have been in contact and I am using his schematics to rewire using his method that had a successful outcome. ( not here to reinvent the wheel)

Id just modify the factory harness like you guys, but I have the lifetime max care on mine so I don't want to modify the harness for fear of being denied claims in the future - whether they are related to harness modifications or not. If I have an adapter harness I can always swap the '11 lamps back if I had to.

It's not hard at all, even with the texture, just be weary of any silicon partials I.e back to black or tire cleaner that may have got on the parts because the paint will bubble or not adhere right. But all I did was clean the part with dish washing soap than used a paint adhesive from advanced auto parts with a few good very light coats and let it dry (it dries quickly 15 to 20 mins) than I did 3 light coats of the mopar spray paint, let dry for 3 hours between coats, 3 coats of generic ultra gloss clear coat (from advanced auto) with 3 hours between. Than I let it seal and cure for a week (I just placed the parts back on after letting them dry overnight and drove for a week with them on. They'll look a little foggy and like crappy spray paint but be patient) than I removed everything again the next weekend and started to wet sand. Finishing off with ultra cut compound and I'll tell you what it's like magic! Crap Aweful finish to mirror!

where did you get your wiring harness for the headlights? I'd be interested in doing this conversion since my front end has a few scratches from road debris before I bought it, but a lack of a headlight harness is preventing me from doing it.
