Condensation problem in my srt led/hid headlights

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix a condensation issue inside of a factory led/hid headlight?

I recently installed a set of srt headlights into my 2014 limited and one has a boatload of condensation on the inside?

I bought a brand new one to replace this leaky one but I'm curious if anyone has any pointers on how to fix the leak?

There are no obvious cracks anywhere so I'm not sure where the leak/condensation is coming from?

There's a TSB aka a free fix for that at your nearest dealership. Head there and it should be a seamless swap.

Will the TSB still apply if he added SRT headlights to his limited?

Re: Condensation problem in my srt led/hid headlights

How are the srt headlights significantly different from what he had initially? Were the original headlights with the LEDs already inside them or were they the regular halogens?

I don't think limiteds got the LED headlights with the beams that turn with your steering. I think he's SOL.

Re: Condensation problem in my srt led/hid headlights

I had the factory hid/LEDs

I just went to the srt's for the blacked out look

Plug and play ...but I'm still skeptical about the dealership fixing them..ill ask though

Re: Condensation problem in my srt led/hid headlights

So you had the LEDs which were offered as part of a package. You wanted more of the blacked out look that comes with the SRT? Heck maybe the guys at the dealership won't notice.

Re: Condensation problem in my srt led/hid headlights

Just see what they say first then volunteer the swap info if asked. They may be replaced regardless of the swap since it's the same lights. The TSB applied to those people who had the condensation issue in those exact lights with usually no questions asked because it was a known issue.

That works also because he had the LEDs as an ordered package anyway.

Re: Condensation problem in my srt led/hid headlights

I had a couple of aftermarket headlights in my other car. It is recommended that you run a thin bead of clear silicone around the seams. It has always worked for me.
