Re: Converting a 2014 limited to the 2014 srt body kit

I bought the front and rear bumper covers off eBay

I bought al the drl LEDs and projector lights as well as all the fascias and trim rings from moparamerica as they were considerably cheaper than just for jeeps. I used the parts lists that just for jeeps uses on their website for their front and rear srt bumper kits and plugged them into the mopar America site ..ended up saving over 400$ in comparison to just for jeeps price.

I found a set of srt 2014 side rockers and all the fender flares off car-part.com which is a salvage site that allows you to buy parts from salvage yards all over the USA and Canada

So the main panels I got are all oem ..some used some new but I need to have them All painted anyways..all the bezels/rings and lights are all new

I'm debating as to whether or not I should get another upper grill as I could use my existing one .

I'm also trying to decide if I want to paint the upper grill black like the srt or if I should go with a blue grill and black rings and honeycomb for the grill..
My jeep is dark blue now and has a lot of chrome on it..I'll be tackling that next ..trying to start eliminating the chrome

As you can see there's a lot of work to do to start blacking it out

Re: Converting a 2014 limited to look like the 2014 srt

Thanks for the info. looking forward to seeing your ride when it's all said and done. I've been following your posts and looks like I might be headed down that route also. Saving up for the supercharger first then slowly but surely Il see what I want to add on from there. Wanted an srt also but I'm unwilling to take the depreciation loss if I sell so this is next best thing.

Re: Converting a 2014 limited to the 2014 srt body kit

well....in retrospect i really do wish I had gotten the SRT ...but since I didn't I didn't want to trade in my jeep and take a beating on the depreciation also...so I started slowly upgrading ...well...I've had my jeep for 2 years now and have 36K miles on it.

So far i've upgraded the following:

SRT Brembo Brake upgrade with metal lines and Hawk Rotors and pads
SRT Replica Wheels with 295/45/20's toyo tires - this is actually my 3rd set of aftermarket wheels in 2yrs
Chrome Upper and lower grill (coming off soon)
LED interior kit
Aftermarket Hood
RM Springs/bilsteins/SRT Sway Bars/Black ops End links
Gibson exhaust
RIPP Supercharger -Installed wideband A/F Gauge as well as boost gauge in custom gauge pod (where the sunglass holder used to be)
Full SRT metal billet Technologies engine dress up kit
I have a FULL aftermarket stereo system with 4 amps and all new door speakers/dsp etc including 2x10" subs that's ready for install but i've been busy with tuning this damn supercharger

so far I have almost 10K$ invested in this supercharger system + Gauges alone...been having consistent errors so I've been forced to replace everything a few times and its still not perfect...going in the shop tomorrow to have all the injector seals replaced ...i'm getting an occasional PO304 Misfire code

I have a full Carbon fiber interior kit that's going in tomorrow-it a 46pc kit that just lays over the stock parts...so we'll see how it looks installed...still skeptical

All in I'm well over 20K+ into upgrading this jeep ...and that doesn't include this latest project of buying the srt body parts + paint...that'll be close to 5K by the time its done.

My jeep is pretty fast right now...but not 100% sure the supercharger is really worth it...i'd probably recommend either trading the jeep in for a hemi or an srt before you get too deep into the upgrades. At least the Hemi has the SRT transmission and if you decide to supercharge that you'll be well over the SRT HP numbers...

Just my $.02 though

Re: Converting a 2014 limited to look like the 2014 srt

Wow that's a hell of an upgrade list. Also alot of money and time invested. Yea it might be cost effective to just get an srt or a hemi, if I go deep that route. Allthough I'm hoping you figure out your tuning issues with that supercharger as I'm hoping that becomes a viable option down the line for more power. Do u know any other owners having the same tuning issue?

Re: Converting a 2014 limited to the 2014 srt body kit

I've talked with a few others that have this setup and they had similar issues but eventually worked them out ...I can't even begin to tell you how much effort we've put into trying to resolve these tuning issues. I'm not sure how hard people are driving their supercharged jeeps but I've been beating the snot out of mine...just to see if it holds up

I've had all the plugs changed...done several boost pressure tests...changed injectors...seals..moved coil packs around .etc...

I'm getting an occasional Misfire code on Cylinder 4 and sometimes random cylinders...and then the bad one is the knock sensors go nuts every now and then.
The issues are ONLY present after the car has been running for like an hour and is warmed up ...and I'm HEAVY on the throttle...usually in between like 110-130MPH is when the error and the knock sensors start going nuts. As long as I stay off WOT for less than 10 seconds it never kicks an error.

it drives perfectly fine other than that ...and I do get a LOT of Belt squeal now when I'm driving through a parking lot...

Overall though the Supercharger makes this thing really come to life...I'm right at around 4.9 Seconds 0-60 ...which is leaps and bounds better than stock
