Cross Bars and Roof Rack 2014 Grand Cherokee

Looking to get some extra cargo space for my Jeep. MY 2014 did not come with the cross bars to get some extra storage.

Basically want to know which cross bars anyone would recommend to get for the 2014's?

The Mopar rack is a decent value and there are good instructions on installation here at JG as the provided instructions are not that great. They make a modest amount of wind noise but not as bad as the less expensive Ebay racks. I am happy with mine!

Re: Cross Bars and Roof Rack 2014 Grand Cherokee

I have the mopar bars and like them a lot. I get zero noise from mine. I did at first but then realized the rubber strips that cover the attachment slot are directional. I had read plenty about the bars themselves being direction sensitive (fat part towards the front) but nothing about the rubber inserts being directional. After installing them I was pissed because they whistled a bit but after trial and error of moving them around I noticed one side of the rubber strip is constructed so it sits ever so slightly over flush with the bar (just barely). I had the flush side facing forward on each bar and when I pulled the strips on and reversed them I noticed the "leg" on one side is a hair longer which is causing this. I reinstalled with the over flush side facing forward and they are absolutely silent. The only time they make any noise is when the sunroof is in the vent position at around 40 mph. This is more info than you asked for but I thought this might be helpful if you get the bars.

Thanks I appreciate the detailed response. More information the better! I will be in the market for cross and storage in the next coming weeks.
