I've recently picked up a 2012 Overland with the 'bubbling' leather and from reading the experiences of others here I know it isn't covered under any of the warranties so I'm thinking of a dash mat to help prevent it from getting any worse.
If anybody is using one, recommended brands to go with or stay away from? Anybody have pics of theirs?
I don't have an Overland, but I just put a DashMat brand faux-suede in our GC Blackhawk. It is very nice and fits well. It didn't come with any velcro attachments and I'm not sure it needs any. It stays in place very well, even with our GPS sitting on it. I can snap a pic later and post if it necessary.
I got it from Amazon with Prime shipping. $42 and worth it.
I put a dash mat on my GC MY 13 limited from almost day one
Australian (Queensland) sun can bake a dash interior temps can rise very quickly and to very high temps so it was a no brainer.
Did they give a part number? I went back & forth with the dealer who insisted it wasn't covered by the extended warranty (I bought the 2012 used and bought the max warranty which has since expired) and at some point they insisted they couldn't outright order me one even if I paid for it because it was no longer available.
They called me yesterday and said my part was in. I had it fixed today, but they did not replace the dash vent. They admitted the bubbling of the dash broke the clip but it is not covered? They are resubmitting it to try to get it fixed. Part # they fixed was CXBEX814AA
