Re: Dash vinyl wrapped

Hi Wade

How did you get the door to the cubby in the lower dash out? It doesn't appear to be covered in the PDF from wk2Jeeps about trim removal.. Or I'm missing something..

Thanks for sharing your wrapping job, it inspired me to have a go too. Got my shifter bezel done tonight, same finish as yours, and while it was a bit tricky for a first-timer I'm happy with the result.

Keen to get onto the cubby door next and then who knows what else after that, that brushed metallic look shits all over the stock plastic!

Simon

Re: Dash vinyl wrapped

Hi Simon,

To get to the door you'll have to pull the whole cubby compartment out of the dash, which means removing the center and shifter bezels first. If you go to page 19 in the pdf it'll show you the steps.

Yes the first couple of wraps can be tricky, I lost count of how many times I cooked my fingers with the heat gun .

Re: Dash vinyl wrapped

Thanks Wade, looks nice and easy. I managed not to burn myself while applying the wrap, but was using the good wife's hairdryer, as I don't have a heat gun

Re: Dash vinyl wrapped

Wow, looks great! I didn't realize there was 3M wrap like that. One of the reasons I went with the High Altitude was that I couldn't stand the gold color and the silver was much better. I am tempted to get some of this and try to cover up the wood trim...

Great post.

Re: Dash vinyl wrapped

Yeah we will see, was certainly a concern for me. Then again if it comes off that easily in heat, why would anyone wrap their whole car, as many do?

Cheers, Simon
