Re: De-Badged the Summit

I have the same color and am considering this...looks really nice. I like how it shows off the smooth curved body lines. Thanks for the pics...I might be debadging because of them

Re: De-Badged the Summit

Yea I've been trying to convince my wife how nice it looks. I managed to take off the "4x4" badge, as well as the dealership sticker, without much convincing, but for some reason she like the overland badge. After she saw these pics. I think she is good!!

Re: De-Badged the Summit

I used a heat gun to remove the badge, then some orange goo gone sticker remover, or PB blaster sticker remover. Let it soak in a bit, then just a finger nail. Follow it up with some windex and paper towel. Maybe a clay bar if you have some ghosting.

Re: De-Badged the Summit

FWIW, when I had clear bra put on our Overland the installer was able to pop off the Jeep letters on the front cleanly with no residue. I wish I would have watched him do that part. He said he does it all the time on Jeeps, but on other brands the adhesive separates. He put the emblem back on over the clear bra, and lined it up better than it was originally. I do like the no badge look though!

Re: De-Badged the Summit

I did the same thing last year. I waited until it was cold outside and used an old credit card. No residue left behind this way. I wasn't as violent with the "cold method" as the YouTube demo videos, though.

I only wish I could have removed the rear Jeep logo as well, but I couldn't think of anything to do with the recessed area.

I'm planning on plasti-dipping the rear badge.
