Dealer name sticker removal

I just found the dealer name in black vinyl letters on the corner of the tailgate on my granite crystal Altitude GC. What is the best and simplest way to remove this w/o harming the paint??????

Re: Dealer name sticker removal

I accidently buffed mine off when I was waxing my truck. I was using Meguiar's cleaner wax with an orbital. They came right off no effort!

Good Luck

Re: Dealer name sticker removal

A little heat from a blow dryer and peel it off with your finger nails. If there is any sticky mess left over, just use a dab of goo-gone and a micro fiber towel to remove it.

I told my dealer not to put there name on my car and if they did I wanted $100 a month for advertising - They agreed to leave it off

Too Cheap only asking $100.00 a month
I would want a commencement fee of $500.00 for then to deface my car like that then at least $200 a month

Re: Dealer name sticker removal

Heat from a hair dryer or heat gun and either finger nails or a soft plastic scraper will easily remove these stickers.

Haha^^^

I've removed several vinyl decals on various vehicles. ... literally just peeled off with my fingernail. Just be gentle. Then goo gone.

Re: Dealer name sticker removal

Most dealers in Australia tend to use license plate covers as their means of advertising. People are least inclined to to remove these covers as it means unscrewing the license plate from the car which is too much effort so they stay on there!! Not a bad strategy really...

Re: Dealer name sticker removal

One of the keys to getting these of easily is getting them off fast...
If they have only been on a few days, they'll peel quickly with a hair dryer. If they are on for 6 mo to a year. they really get stuck on and are much more difficult....

Re: Dealer name sticker removal

Always a pet peeve of mine. The vehicles I have bought with them on were all removed before I got the car home...

First chance I had to pull into a parking lot, there I am pulling them off. Just used my fingernail and some goo gone (if needed) as said above...

Never even bothered with a hair dryer but come to think about it, its always been on a hot day when I have done this and they had not been on the car long either.

Can't say enough great things about the dealer I bought my 2015 from. Salesman asked what level of dealer prep I wanted. I said every minimal and made sure I specifically said to NOT install the front license plate screws. I didn't even think about asking them to not install the dealer decal but sure enough, he knew I wouldn't want it and none was installed.

Salesman said the detail team tried multiple times to put one on it but he pushed back.

Re: Dealer name sticker removal

Honestly, I make the dealer remove them before I complete the paperwork...

BTW, this same heat and carefully scrape (with non-metallic scraper) technique works for other kinds of stickers, too, just in case that ever comes up as a need.
