Re: does anyone know how to remove rear view mirror cover? on a wk2 GC

move the power mirror glass all the way towards the outside.(meaning move from its current position away from the Jeep. Thiswill expose a little of the interior of the mirror. With your fingers and some force...pull the mirror glass off the housing. The glass just clips to the mirror. Once the glass is loose...unplug any wires leading to the glass. You will have the inside of the mirror exposed now. You will see the 4 clips that hold the chrome cover to the housing. Use a flat blade screwdriver or trim stick and pop the clips off the mirror housing while slowly pushig the chrome mirror cover off. One of the clips is hard toi get to unless you remove a single screw. To remove that screw...fold the mirror in and it will expose the screw in the bend of the fold. This will allow you to move the housing around to reach the final clip. To install the [painted housing just push it on till all four clips...clip in. Reverese the above. very easy....I promise.
