Door Map Pocket LED

I noticed the driver side map pocket LED ambient light bulb is not working in my 2014 grand cherokee altitude. The passenger lights up fine. I brought it to jeep and they said they have to remove the entire door panel and the guts of the door to replace the light. No thanks. Has anyone ever replaced the light without removing the door? If not im just going to leave it. thanks

Re: Door Map Pocket LED

I don't understand....
What's the big deal?

I personally removed the inner door skin/panels off my Legacy to replace the factory non-folding mirrors with updated folding mirrors.

I'm sure the dealer is even more experienced at removing the GC inner door skins.

My dealer had to take my GC driver door skin/panel off to replace the window regulator (under warranty) and I haven't had any rattling/issues. They even left all my stuff in the door pockets (or put it back exactly the same).

Taking off the door panels is relatively easy on most vehicles.

Re: Door Map Pocket LED

Definitely don't see how you will ever get to it without removing the panel. Even if you could get the LED to pull through (which I am 95% sure it will not do), I really doubt you will have enough extra wire to allow you access tot he connector.

Sorry I can't speak from experience, I know speculation doesn't help much but I am confident there would be no other way regardless.
