Drawers for rear of JGC

Hi all.I just wanted to show you the pics of my drawer box. I finally put it in today after attaching all the external hardware (tie down points, bolt locks etc).

I have run a tie down strap through the spare and under the drawer as well as turnbuckle fittings at the rear to the factory anchor points. I know they're not very strong but coupled with the strap through the spare it's better than nothing.

You will see that the box has a single drawer with removable internal partitions to divide it into quarters, halves or just have one big drawer.

The box measures 1000mm wide x 800mm deep x 250mm high. I got all the external fittings and cheapest marine carpet I could find at local hardware store.

I got a cabinet maker mate to make the box/drawer etc and another upholsterer mate to do the carpet.

All up I'd say it cost about $750AUD. No doubt it would be cheaper to do in the States. Just thought some of you might be interested to see them.

Cheers,

Clarkey.

These are mine, made from two std Ikea drawers, and covered with sticky back felt from Spotlight. It sits on a 1mtr square base, not tied down at the moment, but is very solid.
