Has anyone tried the silverstar DRL replacement bulbs? I have one DRL out and am kicking around spending the extra couple bucks to try the silverstars instead of the basic DRL bulb. I know I saw a lot who have converted to LEDs but I am not interested in spending a lot and saw where some people had issues with those. I figured maybe these silverstars will brighten up the drls a tad but still keep the reliability of a standard bulb... Anyone using them?
Thanks
Jon
I converted every exterior bulb on an older GC to Silverstar.
They are notably brighter, particularly brake lights, turn signals, headlights, and fogs.
The LED bulbs do have a much longer typical service life, which for some of the bulbs would be a benefit.
Ive been using silver stars in my DRL's and they don't last long at all. If i'm lucky maybe a month. I want to try LED's just not sure which ones to use and if their worth it.
If you haven't already maybe consider these LED's. I've had them in for almost 6 months so far and no problems. These haven't burned the inside of my headlight housing which is what I was afraid of after reading other peoples experiences with LED's.
True, they look more like in the picture below but it's the correct model number. The box it comes in from PUTCO looks like the stock image on Amazon and not like the actual bulb.
I'd be worried about electrical warranty problems. The dealership claims that voids the warranty; I've heard some heated arguments while waiting for my GC. Check with Jeep Customer Care first
