The Eagle eyes are halogen, I have a Moromoto Elite HID lowbeams kit using a Canbus flicker fix from Diode Dynamics. The fogs are an HID kit from DDM that also works on the headlamps (shipped from China and not as bright as the Morimotos). Both kits are 5500Ks. The cutout is perfect, I still lowered it a bit since I always thought stock was a bit too high.

While I haven't opened up the headlamps myself, I do recall a custom project done by RIHIDS where the LEDs for the ring were replaced with much higher quality bulbs. The bulbs used were switchback LEDs as well, and actually made it so the led surround functioned as the blinker (flashing Amber upon use of the signal). Very very cool stuff. But I would contact Dan at RIHIDS. I attached his reply to a member who inquired about an led upgrade.
