midsouthduckhunter, where do you find the SRT-ish kit that you reference above?

Thanks,

There are a lot just Google 2014 Grand Cherokee
Sarona

Thanks, CK. Nice find on the flares. I'm looking forward to seeing your headlights and flares installed.

Yes, it definitely gets pricey for the parts and paint. An additional reason for me wanting new pieces versus smoothing out the textured ones is I plan on keeping this Jeep for 3 or 4 years. I will reinstall the original pieces and sell the painted pieces to recoup some of the cost before moving on.

I had read about the VG antennas a week or so ago and ordered it last night.

Thanks again,

Thumbs up Re: Fender flares

Hey guys....I've been working on switching ALL of my lower trim on my 2014 Grand Cherokee to the SRT Style...it's NOT cheap...if you want the look of the Overland just get the paintable flares

To buy the SRT front and rear bumpers...plus the Rockers and flares is about 3K alone ...even used you'll spend over 2K

THEN.....you have to consider the small stuff that REALLY adds up...the LED DRL lights on the SRT bumper(front) are $600 alone...then add the new projectors and that's another 250$ ...plus all the hardware you need to buy..the SRt flares are $1200 alone new ...

painting and installing it is an easy $1500 alone...I'm going to be well into the $5K range by the time this is all on...

I'd say just buy an SRT if you like the way they look...lol...way cheaper and easier in the long run

I've been on a mission to build mine to look like an SRT but Now I'm about ready to give up and just get the SRT

Here's where I am at now

I have been doing a lot of research on finding a way to put these flares on without needing to get the additional body pieces. First I may have found a place to get them much much cheaper than the dealer. If you do a search on Kresh fender flare grand cherokee it brings up a site called alibaba. They have the flares for sale there anywhere between 125.00 and 350.00 probably depending on how many sets you buy. More sets you buy the cheaper it is. I sent a message to the supplier but they are on national holiday over there until Oct 8th. Not even sure if they will sell 1 set to the general public. Now looking at the vehicle and how they fit on the fenders, I believe if you bought 2 sets of these flares you could make them work. It would require you to modify some of the pieces of the extra set you buy. The non SRT guys would need 4 additional pieces to finish off the transition on both the rear and front bumpers. These 4 pieces would come from the extra set you purchase. You would need to cut and modify these pieces only. Going to make a template on my 2011 to see if the curves and shape is right in order to do it. I am 99 percent sure this is where the dealers and vendors get most of the body parts for these vehicles. What would you rather pay for flares, 1,200 or 125.00? I am sure the vendors pay the 125.00 price buy in bulk and mark them up to 1,200. I will keep you guys informed.

Re: Fender flares

Made some templates over the weekend out of poster board and it really looks doable. The 4 extra pieces would come from the rear door flares and the front fender flares. You would need to carefully measure and then cut those flares. The shape and curvature look pretty spot on so you could finish off the rear and front bumpers. My only concern is with the rear where it meets the lower rear bumper valance. Part of that valance sticks out quite a bit and I know the flare is pretty flat so that may not look quite right. If I can get the 2 sets for cheap I will get them and try it. As soon as I hear from the vendor I will let those of you interested know what you can get them for price wise.

Re: Fender flares

i talked to Sarona today and they charge about 520$ for their Srt style flares..they are fiberglass but still better than paying 1200$ for the factory ones

Man..if you can get them for 125$ that'd be amazing

Platinum Al,
I thought I replied but can't find the message, so apologies if this is a duplicate message. If you look at the Kresh listing on Alibaba.com the minimum (MOQ) is 10 sets. I'm sure there is a translation issue on the minimum listing but the reality is Alibaba is a manufacturer supply website. I've purchased quantity goods from China & Taiwan and it is a real PITA.
HOWEVER, on the other pages I saw you can buy an entire 2014 SRT body kit for $1988, MOQ = 1. It looks like every exterior body and trim piece for the vehicle. No telling what shipping or customs will cost you but you can use Paypal and lead-time = 1 month. 1-stop shopping.

Re: Fender flares

Hey mid, can you explain PITA. Website seems confusing to use. I am hoping I can speak with someone live to see if I can order only 2 sets. I did find one listing that the min. Order was only one set. I am a little nervous about dealing with this site so any info or tricks in dealing with them is appreciated. Hopefully I will be able to do that tonite as they will be back from the holiday over there.
