First wax

Waxed for first time today . . . tried the barrett jackson liquid wax and, honestly, i like the meguiars cleaner wax better. However, the barrett jackson does not stain the black plastic trim like meguiars.

Second picture is looking down on hood.

Looks great man. Black always looks so amazing.... for that first hour or so. After that, it looks like shit all over again. LOL. I'm confident I will never own another black vehicle again.

Re: First wax

Agreed. This is the second black car I owned (other was a long time ago). One of the very first things I did was buy an unlimited wash package from my car wash. I know that, to some, taking a car through a car wash is sacrilege . But I too cannot stand a black car.

Re: First wax

Looks great. Meguiars Cleaner wax is an excellent product. If it had some boutique label on the bottle you'd hear more people raving over it. I almost always use that as my "first coat" and follow up with Collinite and and always impressed with the results and ease of use. Recently started using the Mirror Glaze version of the cleaner wax but honestly could not tell any difference between that and the regular Meguiars. Good stuff.

It's funny...
You would think the dark colors would hide dirt better than white/light colors, but in reality it's just the opposite.

Had a white mini-truck back in the '80s that would hide dirt so well (as long as you weren't right up by it).

Next vehicle is going to be white...

Re: First wax

What I have found is that, of all the cars I have owned, the best at hiding dirt is clearly silver. Had a silver Overland that I traded in for this car. Wife still has a silver Aspen. Bright red (not maroon) is also good, but not as much as silver.

That was one of the drivers of me grabbing a Billet JGC. Have had a black car for the past 15 years and was so tired of it always looking filthy. Had actually put a deposit down on a black JGC and completely changed my mind, canceled the deal, and started looking at other colors. I also like the way the chrome blends with the Billet, that was another factor given how much bling is on these cars (except for that beautiful HA).

What is even better than bright white is white tri-coat. It's worth it to me to wait until January when they start spraying it at JNAP

Re: First wax

That's a great looking wax job and a beautiful vechile. You did a great job detailing it and the photos are on par too. I dig the second one, that reflection is just beautiful.

It is really hard to beat black but like everyone else, it only looks great when you drive it off the lot and when you do a wax job. Silver, black, granite and white were my choices, though the more I see the different colors I am convinced you cannot make a bad choice. Billet Silver won out this time. My previous KK was Bright Silver. I prefer the Billet between the two. Tri-coat is going to be something when it comes out.
