Re: fog led

I ordered the 5000K 30W CREE LEDs for fogs as well. Also ordered the Phillips LEDS for the license plate area.

Re: fog led

Hi Guys,

For the 5202 / H16 30W CREE LED bulbs you will have to slightly modify one of the tabs on the bulb base. This will not be the case with the 9006 and H11 fitments.

Son of a b*****. I didn't want these then. I was under the impression these were plug and play like the 11W ones Scott got. Is 2012 Grand Cheokee not compatible with the 9006 and H11 fitments? What about my order? Are you getting the 11W Cree LEDs in 5000k too (the ones you said you'd have soon when I p.m.d you two months ago)?

Re: fog led

These are plug+play in a sense that you need to trim a tab on the bulb (not the actual vehicle). Once you do this then are plug+play and connect right into your OEM harness. This is exactly what Scott did.

Why does the JGLED code not work for these bulbs?

Re: fog led

Trim the tab with what type of tool? Is any filing involved?

I've used a small pair of wire snips previously on other bulbs. But a sharp knife or razor blade would prob do the trick as well.

Re: fog led

My concern is once you trim the tab, does it snap in securely? If it's loose then that's a no go for me.

Along with the tab trimming, these new bulbs don't seem to have the lens that is built into the OEM bulbs, right? So even though brighter, they may not be as effective and not work as well as they could.

Re: fog led

Currently regretting my order and considering canceling if it doesn't ship today...poor CS experience overall.
