footwell dicor !!

hey everyone !

So I was happy installing my new husky liners when I noticed something strange in the footwell. I've attached pictures for more understanding of the issue.

The top cover is very loose for some reason, and the area seems very naked.
by this I mean you can see all different kinds of wires, chasis metals and steering column too.

Should all this area be covered or something?
how can I fix the fallen decor? more insulation maybe?

If possible someone can attach a photo of their foot-well area.

Thank You All

That's the way they come. Nothing out of the ordinary that I can see.

Re: footwell dicor !!

They essentially do the same cost/materials shaving with the paint. If you look at the parts that are somewhat hidden on the body (such as in the engine bay), you'll see some of it is primer only with no paint coverage at all.

It's that whole "if you don't look at it from anything other than a normal position, you won't see it" type of thing that results in not going beyond that point.

Re: footwell dicor !!

Yours looks like it may be sagging a little more than it should be. For example on both sides my footwell light is exposed and sitting below the felt material. Check the front most part and make sure it's pushed up and held in place where it's supposed to be. Here is what mine looks like on my new High Altitude. The front most part should be pushed up and above a little ridge which supports the front. And obviously the rear most part is held in by those push pins. Overall though the front most section is fairly loose as there are no clips holding it in which is normal. It more or less just rests on parts and the rear part is held in with pins.
Looking at mine there is no overly exposed parts and it's fairly clean and neat looking. Seems fine to me.

Re: footwell dicor !!

What I'm confused about though is what exactly is "naked"? I mean there is a cover there and I don't see anything exposed. The data link connector is there but that has to be accessible, other than that, the felt cover pieces pretty much covers everything. If there was no cover then I would start to question things a bit lol.

Re: footwell dicor !!

Lol

I actually meant that you can see the metal work and steering column, some wires too. I have a benz e550 2013 and don't see any body metals, so it got me wondering when i checked my jeep.

So when i saw the body metal and steering column i was a bit shocked and here where the term naked came from, exposure lol.

In your pic you too can see couple of wires (same as mine) steering column (same also)

I actually didnt like that i'm able to see metal body parts.
But its all good since all jeeps come like that. But my cover is sagging
Mine is the overland hemi.

Re: footwell dicor !!

Well it's a good thing my shoes don't care much about seeing some wires and steering components then
