Moose, so, you took off the chrome covers and ..... bought color matched covers from Mopar to install or what?
One of my biggest "dislikes" about my Limited is the chrome mirror covers. Wasn't sure of my options to "fix". Any pics of the install, the mirrors with no chrome covers or of the chrome covers after you took them off?
Sounds like a lot of people feel like I do in that the JGC should not be loaded in chrome. A little here and there is nice but I think Jeep went a little crazy with some of the models. It is one of the reasons I stuck with the Laredo.
when i asked my dealer about this he told me the chrome mirror covers weren't covers, that they were all one piece. and if i wanted to get body colored mirrors i would have to purchase and swap out the entire mirror - which, because i have heated mirrors with the blind spot monitoring, would not be possible?
is it really just a matter of getting a body colored cover?? this would make me so happy!

the bad news is your dealer is literally making sheit up on this one. these are plastic caps/covers, no mechanical or electrical componentry whatsoever.
the good news is you can just repaint the chromed plastic set you have, or find a swap out with someone who wants the bling.
did you have the "JEEP" letters painted on the rear chrome strip? it doesn't look like they are painted but it's hard to tell. i think i like them not painted. gives just a little bit of contrast.
I had seen the painted rear chrome which turned out great but didn't think I had seen it with the color matched mirrors before... might be going a bit insane. Looks sweet either way. Now that the interior is dialed in I think I'm going to start the exterior de-chrome process as well. Nice work!
