Hi - first time post here. Hoping to get some assistance to solve a puzzle
I recently purchased a used '15 Summit/Platinum with ~13K miles. Fell in love with the way this one looked online, went to the lot on a whim and bought it right there and then. Now, here is the "issue": The front grill and fascia are entirely
blacked out. The front grill trim rings and mesh inserts are body color (black) and the lower bar (the one on the summit that curves up over the adaptive cruise control antenna and back down again) is also body color, along with the mirrors.
I have never seen a single other Summit with a body color front end. Every other vehicle has either chrome trim rings/grill insert/lower front end bar (non-Platinum) or the more satin silver color (Platinum edition).
I have had the dealer print out the complete options list from their STAR system, but really didn't clear things up. There appears to be no way to order this in options packages. So it appears it is some kind of special order. Possibly the grill/trim from an SRT? Altitude?. But this doesn't answer why the lower bar is also black.
I don't think someone had these painted separately, per the carfax the original owner (possibly corporate, not sure) owned the car for only 5 months (11K miles) and the dealer owned it for 2 months (2K miles).
