Front Fog Light Removal

I bought some new LED fog lights to replace my OEM fog lights on my 2013 Trailhawk. Despite looking through this form and other places I can't get the old lights out. Not being able to see in there is a big reason why, but I've reached in there many times and can't figure if I need to turn or pull or what. Nothing seems to make them budge. Can anyone give me better instructions to make this happen?

Re: Front Fog Light Removal

When I say lights, I mean light bulbs.

If they are the same as my 2012, you have 2 tabs you have to squeeze together to remove bulb, i changed mine out with led as well, i did post a thread on this, may want to check it out, i had some modification to get them to work.

Re: Front Fog Light Removal

Thanks Viper99, your pictures are excellent. I was hoping to be able to leave the wheel liner on and reach in there and change the bulbs out. But I think I'm going to pull the liner back like you did. I think its the only way I'm going to be able to put this job to bed.

I think I'll do it right now.

You can reach in without pulling liner back, mine would not fit right, so I ended up pulling liner back to access fog lights, not really much work to pull liner back, have to remove a few plastic rivets though, will need to replace later.
hope this helped, and good luck with tour install, what kind of LED bulbs did you get? and how do you like them? (after you get them installed)

Re: Front Fog Light Removal

I have been able to reach in to the back of the lights but without seeing what I was doing, I wasn't able to get the bulbs out. I did the job this afternoon of removing the wheels, pulling back the wheel liner , and changing the bulbs out. I see what you mean about the fit. They did not have that satisfying snap in. I would say they are semi-secure and I will check them in a few days. I didn't have a lot of time to mess with them today as I had to watch the Riders/Esks game.

I was pretty sure I bought the new bulbs on Amazon but I can't find them in my orders. I may have bought them elsewhere.

I haven't seen how much light they cast but they are definitely brighter looking than the OEM lights.

I 'upgraded' the plastic rivets to zip-ties.
