Re: Front Skid Plate from Steel Armadillo

Pretty light weight 1/4" aluminum - will likely gouge a hole on the first rock.

better than the plastic oil pan on the newer hemi's.

1/4" is decent thickness honestly. MY04 STI has a front skid plate and i can jack whole front end up with it.

I agree that you can pick up the vehicle with the skid plate.

But rocks don't have a forgiving shape like a pad on the floor jack, and comes at it much faster when the vehicle drops onto it.

It's cool looking, don't get me wrong. It'll work great as a deflector, which is what it's primary job is in the STI

Re: Front Skid Plate from Steel Armadillo

Interesting article about Fords new aluminum body.
Forbes Welcome

The steel Armadillo skid plate is 3/16" in steel or 1/4" in aluminum. May be 6 one way, half a dozen another. Need more data.

Edit: front skid plate 1/4" aluminum only. The other two available in 3/16" steel or 1/4" aluminum.
