Fuel door cover

I notice that my fuel door cover has a gap / space on the top and left side. Looks like it may need some kind of adjustment to fit better? I am wondering if this is normal or if yours is the same.

Thanks

Re: Fuel door cover

Mine is the same way. Also add that it only opens about half the time when I push the button (nothing to do with the temperature, it has gotten stuck closed when it was 30* out and 65*F)

I had this issue also. Dealer fixed it. It required replacing at least one part.

Very very common issue on the WK2's. Soo common that the doors were on back order just a month ago; as they come pre-painted. Today they replaced my door and the entire interior assembly as well! Here is a pre-fix pic, you can see how the front sticks out. ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1452214030.929109.jpg

Mine's an SRT, so the following also applies to the summit/altitudes. The front fender flares have weak clips and the two sided tape used above the clips is of poor quality. You can basically pull your flare off towards the front, with little force. That was also addressed by my dealer today. All these were covered under warranty!

Re: Fuel door cover

UPDATE: Fuel door cover repaired. It is now perfectly flush and operating how it should. They replaced the housing. (waited an 1 1/2 at dealership) Here are the after photos.

Much better. Mine was done as well, they changed the housing and door as well. Like yours it actually sits about a millimeter to the right (not 100% centered) but thats probably by design since the joint is on the left side. Still better than having it protrude.

Re: Fuel door cover

This amazes me. It is easier and cheaper to install the assembly correctly in the factory then to redo later.

Re: Fuel door cover

I've had 3 fuel door assembly's installed already. It's finally centered. We will see how long it stays that way.
