Glove Box LED strip installation upgrade

Last weekend I swapped the 168 bulb in my glove box with an LED but I was not happy with the light projection of the LED so I came up with a better solution than just adding an LED.

Parts List:

6 inch strip LED 5K (source VLEDS.com)
One set of "JST" male and female connectors (Optional)
168 bulb base (scavenged from the LED that was in the glove box)

This upgrade cost less then $5 and only took about 10 minutes to do.

1. Begin by prying out the glove box light switch and removing the bulb.

2. Remove the end cap of the dash so you can route the wire from the led strip.

I fed the wire through the top right corner of the glove box (the top of the glove box had many slots you can pass your wire into)

You should always make sure you get the polarity right before you instal the light switch back into position.

Here you can see the LED strip seated in place.

Here the Strip does a perfect job of lighting up the entire drawer and the Owners manual shelf. Looks like a there a florescent in there now and things are easier to find without being distracting to the driver.

Please tell be how to take the back panel(behind the glove box) off so I can put the switch back. I was planning on replacing the glove box bulb with a LED bulb but I ended up with a disassemble switch and never gonna go back together.

You can't take the back panel off but what you can do is open the car door and remove the end cap of the dash that will give you access like I mentioned.
