Glove compartment alcantara

Hi its my first time to post around here, have been lurking for quite a while now. ive got a 2014 JGC limited, the problem im having is the alcantara on the centre console, the glove box is sticking to anything i put inside it which in turn makes it all dirty!!

how do I clean this out so it stops sticking on everything? Ive tried to use a wet rag to attract all the lint to no avail. anyone else have this little problem?

Re: Glove compartment alcantara

I don't have the problem. But if I did I'd use an adhesive lint roller.

Re: Glove compartment alcantara

It's not alcantara, it's injection-molded thermoplastic olefin (Ron Burgundy-Dodge Durango commercial reference).

We have the material that you are talking about, but not the problem of stuff getting stuck in it. I agree with Bill, use an adhesive lint roller.

Re: Glove compartment alcantara

What kind of stuff do you put in there. I have a Kindle, glasses flashlight, wallet when driving. not things that pick up lint.

Re: Glove compartment alcantara

I keep all kinds of things in mine, and nothing is getting dirty. If I was having your problem, I'd get out the shop-vac and give it a good cleaning.

I had this problem on items i put in there. I have used the shop vac several times in there and I believe it's getting better.

Re: Glove compartment alcantara

The coating is flocking not alcantara.

Like the posters above have said the best things to use to pick up the stray fibers are a vacuum cleaner and the lint roller or some low tack masking tape.
