Re: Going to Plasti Dip my rims...
Good luck and show us some picks.
I did the whole drivers side grand Cherokee strips , trail rates badge and rims, not sure if I would really dig the look, I only did the strip on the passengers side. After judging it for a while I ended up stripping the rims. I have a mineral grey and and used black plasti, but it just didn't fit my style. Fast forward 5 or so months and now the strips are starting to show little dots of chrome so I decided to just bite the bullet and peel it off.
Let me tell you, it does peel off, but is takes some finesse. It's not as easy as people make it sound to get it off. But, once off, it's truely is as if it wasn't ever there.
Dam, I should have said this in the first paragraph, but I'm too lazy to fix this in, so it flows decently-- I used 4 coats and the stuff wants 30 min to dry between coats, but it was stupidly hot so I only waited 15 min between coats. So, if you want to do this in a day, you will be able to do it at least an hour per, maybe even lower.
Lastly, to jack the front, on the plastic trim between the tire and and maybe a few inches of where the door starts, there is a triangle and that is where you put the jack. Well, behind the triangle on the metal, not the plastic trim.
When life gives you lemons, run that crap over.
