Re: Got hit from behind...need help with identifying parts

So I got the police report which basically said I was rearended.
Apparently the other driver also got a ticket at the scene for being an unlicensed operator.

It looks like both me and the owner of the BMW have the same insurance company.

Re: Got hit from behind...need help with identifying parts

I think I narrowed down the parts I was looking at for the exterior damage:

Mopar Online Parts | Shop Repair Parts

  • BUMPER COVER - 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE (1VQ66TZZAA) Part Notes: W/O STR8, W/O INSERT
  • LOWER COVER - 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE (68111470AA) Part Notes: W/O STR8, 3.6 LITER, W/TOW PKG Rear Lower FASCIA - Dual Exhaust With Trailer Tow
  • BEZEL - 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE (68111636AA) Part Notes: W/O STR

Can anyone tell me if

IMPACT BAR - 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE (52124606AF)

replaces:

IMPACT BAR - 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee (4578827AG)

or would I need both? (I'm not sure if that tow hitch assembly replaces the original impact bar?)

Well, that makes it easier... only one insurance company to deal with.

Re: Got hit from behind...need help with identifying parts

Well the insurance inspector took a look at my vehicle today. Total damages came out to $3000...$1500 of that is the stock single exhaust. Apparently the impact dented the muffler on my stock single exhaust, so the inspector was kind enough to put down $1500 for a full OEM exhaust. Thanks to that dumb girl I'll be getting a brand new Borla dual for $1339.

My impact beam was still intact (no damage) but I'm just going to pay out of pocket for the OEM hitch version.

Now I just have to wait up to 30 days because the other insured party is not returning the insurance company's phone calls.

Here's a lesson to everyone else...if anyone rear-ends you do not accept cash or let them off the hook no matter how much they beg or how little you think the damage is. I'm glad I called the police.

I don't blame you. I actually masterbated to her pictures for retribution that night. Eased the anger somewhat.
