Got my lower skirts paint matched 2014 white Summit

Just wanted to share some pictures of my paint matched lower skirts on my 2014 Summit. I removed all the parts myself and brought them to a local shop to be painted. Bumper removal was actually much more difficult than I thought it would be. I have removed bumpers from other cars before but this was a lot of work compared to others. The reason being is those darn fender flares, so this complication would be a Summit and SRT specific thing and would be much easier on other models. Basically what I gathered is they designed it so that to get the bumpers off the flares need to be removed. I was able to do it without pulling the flares, but you will likely need to put some new double sided tape in place. Then once the bumpers are off there are a lot of pieces to take off. All in all its doable, but now that I know whats involved I think I wil avoid taking any bumpers off from now on lol.

The results are exactly what I wanted. I like the paint matched skirts of the Summit Platinum and now the High Altitude edition. I am however not a fan of the Platinum silver painted wheels and paint matched mirrors and handles. I would typically like those, but I feel on the Summit chrome suits it well.

Besides the paint matched skirts, exterior wise I have the front windows tint matched to the factory rears as well as rear VLED V3 Triton LED brake/turn bulbs and VLED LED fog light bulbs.

It looks excellent! Very clean and well done. Great job. I do also like the chrome mirrors and door handles on your vehicle. Its subtle against the white and matches the wheels/other chrome accents.

All in all, very well done!

So are you leaving off the fenders?

If you don't mind asking, how much? I want matching bottom trim all around and fenders.

Not sure what you mean leaving off the fenders. What I was referring to before was that in order to remove the front and rear bumpers on an SRT or Summit, those moulded fender flares are in the way. I think they were designed to have to be removed for bumper removal, but you can sort of peel them back and get the bumpers off without removing them, although like myself you will need to re-apply some of the double sided tape. So I never removed the flares and they are in place in my pictures above.
I'm paid $500 cash to have them painted and that was with me removing all parts and dropping them off. I would imagine if you left that work up to the shop the price would go up fairly significantly.
Also, I found out that the chrome strips on the side skirts can't really be removed. There are clips on the back side, but it appears that in addition to those, they are glued in place or double sided taped. They would not budge and I am almost 100% certain if you did try and remove they would be bent or damaged in one way or the other. The shop agreed and ended up masking them. This worked out fine anyway as there is a very small gap and allowed them to be masked perfectly and you would never be able to tell they were left in place for the painting process. All the other chrome pieces on the front and rear bumper are easily removable once the bumpers are taken off.

Depending upon the trim package, the lower bumper trim can often be black instead of colored keyed.

Here's my Limited:

I was referring to the fender flares. I don't see the same style. My bottom trim is exactly like yours.

Re: Got my lower skirts paint matched 2014 white Summit

Yeah they are completely different. The Laredo/Limited/Overland use one type of bumper and side skirt setup. Laredo/Limited is a black plastic and Overlsnd is paint matched. The Summit and SRT have moulded fender flares that flow into the bumpers.
So pretty much my post really only refers specifically to the Summit (non-platinum) that comes with granite painted lower skirts. Since I didn't include before pictures just search for any 2014 Summit and you will see all the side skirts are painted granite regardless of exterior body color. They Summit IMO looks great regardless, but I'm more of a solid color kinda person.
