Re: Grand Cherokee 2014 (Latest Model) factory tint VLT

On My 11:

35% on front windows ( legal max around these parts)
20% windshield at the PS/1 line.

Out come you normally can readily see the front occupant clearly and can hardly tell the differnenc in color.

On the 12:

20% on Front windows ( hoping cops don't harrass me )
35% windshield strip way past the PS/1 line ( length is illegal around these parts)

Outcome Sunny day can see into cabin easily on overcast day you get a reflections.

Both have Mid/light greystone for some reason helps make tint look lighter by showing more interior.

Truthfully I wished I went with 35% since I find myself rolling the windows down to see when I am reversing sometimes.

The rears metered at 20% I did 20% on the fronts they metered 18-19%. Can't really see the diff. IMO. ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1402977297.224177.jpg

The front will give a lower reading because there is some form of tint on them.

So putting 20% on top of 80% will net you a number a couple percentage points lower than 20%

Re: Grand Cherokee 2014 (Latest Model) factory tint VLT

Got my fronts tinted to 20% (Suntek film) to match the rears, and it does match from the outside, but it looks weird from the inside. Like the fronts are darker and the rears are lighter. It's not horrible, but i did pay $90 for this and i didn't expect it.

Is this just inevitable since the front and back weren't tinted in the same fashion with the same film?

Re: Grand Cherokee 2014 (Latest Model) factory tint VLT

Here in MN it's 50% fronts and on SUV and trucks can be as dark as you want. Also told that even if rears are dark enough for you you should still film them cause if someone wanted to break in the rears shatter cause it's a sprayed tint no film.

Re: Grand Cherokee 2014 (Latest Model) factory tint VLT

I'm purchasing a used 2015 jgc summit ca edition.

I'm in hot as hell AZ. I was under the impression that the rear tint was privacy but does not block the heat.

A tint guy said he does 70% on the rear and 20% on the front and it looks perfect, and blocks the heat.

He wasn't the one who told me it was simply privacy in the back so wondering if anyone else read this?
