Re: H.I.D. vs LED pictures.

do you think these bulbs would be too bright to run in the older wk halogen housing? I know a lot of people say the HIDs can be blinding to other drivers in stock halogen housing just wasn't sure if this would be the same with the LED

They will be fine. You can always just aim your lights down a little bit. Its just a phillips screw that you turn to adjust the lights up/down, and a different one for in/out.

Do the rest of us with halogen reflector headlights a favor PLEASE and take a pic of the lights projecting onto a white surface (such as a garage door) once you have one LED in place so that we can compare the light pattern between the LED bulb and the stock halogen bulb.

I know the LED is going to be 'whiter' and appear brighter on the door, but I would like to see how much light 'bleed' there is outside of the 'normal' pattern (if any).

We just encountered a Dodge truck last night driving home that had non-OEM HID lights in his reflector housings and all it did was blind us, the wife flicked on her high beams at the asshole.

I don't want to be 'one of those guys' that puts in aftermarket alternative bulbs and blinds everyone else on the road.

Unfortunately the cops here in the Twin Cities are more "Revenue" enforcement than "Law" enforcement. If the ticket doesn't generate money (equipment violations don't), then they don't seem to care about enforcing the law.

I don't have one with the regular halogen bulb in but this is about 25 ft away in a halogen headlight without any modification ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1428353496.799429.jpg

Thanks much!
That beam pattern looks pretty good.
I see what looks like some very faint 'bleed' above, but that could also be reflection from the ground.

OK. Now to convince the wife that I need LED headlights...
Just dropped a grand on the boat, not sure I'll be able to get these for a little while.

Re: H.I.D. vs LED pictures.

So far been driving around about two months with these in stock halogen headlights and they look awesome on the road and also have yet to have anyone flash high beams due to the lights being blinding to other drivers.

Hello. Can I just replace the stock halogen bulb with an LED bulb in my jeep or would I need to purchase a led conversion kit?

These are the kits referred to in this thread:
LED Headlight Lights | Philips LED Headlight bulbs

Depending on your year (which you don't mention) you may need a 'flicker' cancel adapter. Talk to them to be sure.

Note that they are also a dealer linked to these forums, so mention the Jeep forums and you may get a little more $$ off.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I have a 2015 jeep grand cherokee so would I need a flicker cancel adapter? Also, how can I find out the lights code for my car? Do I have the H11? What about the fog lights code?
