Wondering how the non OEM grill trim rings fit from Ebay from China fit versus the the factory ones? The price is huge difference so wanted to ask....thanks
Yeah, I have them. Not from that seller, but they're all the same from China. Unless you're looking for show quality they work just fine. The fitment is off by a mm or two on some rings, but if you have darker paint, you'll probably never notice the difference. I have white, so at some angles you can see it.
Also, the way they're packed, some of them had scuffs. Again, minor and i could have buffed them out, but unless you're a foot away you can't see them.
Yes I have the Bright White as well, I know I am being anal do you have any more pics from exact front and maybe close up? Did they snap in correct since I see they have 2 tabs versus 4 tabs per side OEM. I will be popping mine out since you dont have to tke off the bumber.....thanks a bunch!
If you keep clicking on the image it'll give you the full sized image and you can see some more detail.
They went in just like the oem ones, but I don't remember how many tabs they had. Pretty sure it was more than 2 each. I'd say more like 4-6. There are guides and there might only be two of those.
Here's another one. Note that #'s 5 & 6 on this image were flipped (in the wrong places). They look better after they were put in the right openings.
I have White also and the gaps you can see close up on a dark vehicle I dont think you could notice, figure when I sell it in a year or so I can sell those for at least $100 used for the OEM ones. Why can't these after market companies make exact copies with an original piece to copy lol!
I was going to buy the chrome honeycomb at justforjeep.com because I thought it was a chrome metal. I contacted customer service and I was told it was plastic. I was not going to pay $217.00 for plastic, so I bought it on Ebay for $45.00 from china. Can you tell if they are original or chinese?
I know, but my point was that in my opinion why pay more money for something that in the end will have the same result. You bought the OEM and they don't look like you expected. At least with the cheapest you wouldn't had paid all that money. Not always the products that come from China are made of poor quality or at least they don't look so bad.
I just returned the $190 oem rings and am going to have mine painted in gloss black, the OEM black ones are just painted and the quality is not good at all for the price. painting the chrome original ones is now going to be the solution....
You think so even if you sand the chrome and have it painted correctly? I have done it in the past without issues really. The OEM ones just dont seem great its just painted over the gray plastic without being chromed...
