Has anyone painted the "Grand Cherokee" on chrome molding strip

As the title states, has anyone gotten the "Grand Cherokee" on the side chrome door strips painted? So the chrome strip is still chrome and the letters "Grand Cherokee" are a different color, possibly black etc? I really like the look of the SRT8 Grand Cherokee letters but want to keep the chrome strips, they act as great door protection, and to give it some accent was thinking of having the "Grand Cherokee" painted black...

Thanks!

I'm thinking of doing it.My JGC is mineral grey, and I thought using the same color would look pretty good.

I was thinking about Plasti-Dipping the strip then somehow removing all of it except for the letters but I haven't gotten around to it. I'll make sure to create a thread if I do.

I like the idea. Find a pin striper that does his work by hand and do it the old school way, or you could do it yourself with a little prep and patience. Masking tape, pin knife and a quality brush. Air brush would also work.
When I was a kid in the 60's and 70's my dad would take new car to pin striper he trusted and let him go at it. Stereo shop too.

IIRC a WK owner did his with a paint pen. Made it into red and it came out great!

That'd be the way to go. Paint it and if you don't like it, peel it off.

You wouldn't need to actually do the entire strip. Just mask off around the GC lettering and of course a decent sized area for overspray. They just hit it a few times, peel off the excess and leave the letters painted.

I've been thinking about buying the SRT lettering for my doors on my non SRT WK2 but I just don't like how there is nothing on the backd doors.
