Re: Having a hitch installed...

Got it installed today. Total came out to be $540.45, including $15.75 for shop fees and $29.70 in taxes. I also went to the parts counter to get a rubber Jeep hitch cover (part # 82208453-AB) for $11.65 (surprised I didn't get bent over for that). I was very pleased with the hitch's appearance.

Re: Having a hitch installed...

Had my hitch and adapter installed by my local dealership on my 2014 GC and asked that to made sure that flashed the system to recogize the turn signals and hazards. I would have installed it myself but since the system needed to be flashed.....hey why not just due the whole thing. Go it home and hooked up my trailer and the hazards and turn signals don't work. you have to be kidding me. I should have known when I gave them the parts and specifically asked them to flash the system for this reason and they looked at me like what are you talking about???

Well I guess I will have another Saturday Morning wasted.

Re: Having a hitch installed...

The mopar hitch you can add on will look like it came with the car. There is really no discernible difference. To be honest, I'd have it done by a jeep dealership-if they make a bad cut on the bumper, it's on them to replace it.

I bought the hitch from just for jeeps, then had an autobody at a jeep dealership install it, then had it flashed by jeep to turn on the harness. About $350 total for the install and hitch.
