Help blacking out new Altitude

Where do you buy the recommended Vinyl for wrapping the chrome window trim?

What options do I have for blacking out tail lights?

Lastly what about blacking out lug nuts? Should I buy new black ones or can I get away with painting?

Like to do this to my 2015 altitude. I already painted and added siderails from a 2011 wk2 and mopar luggage rack. As well as painted white side steps for my wife and kids.

Good looking rig you got there.

It looks like you already have the darker rear SRT lights with gloss black bezel trims?

Thanks for the compliment. The tail lights are stock. I am glad they came with the black bezels.

Thanks For the info. What shade tint do most people go with for tail lights Smoked (med-dark) or Charcoal (dark). I couldn't find photos of our jeeps with examples.

Anyone know where to buy the gloss black vinyl wrap for window trim?

Amazon has the 3M wrap fairly cheap

This is a pic of my car with Charcoal Lamin-X on the rear lights. I have since pulled it off though because I suck at putting it on. I also don't think I will be putting it back on, I think it actually takes away from the black bezels.

Search the forums though, there are many many many threads on all of this.

Not sure why but yours look a lot lighter than mine which are charcoal. You should have left the reverse lights clear to help add contrast.

My bad, mine are/were 'Gunsmoke'. Checked out my cart on their website and I have some charcoal ones sitting in it. Sorry for the mix up!

Thant's not a bad idea though, didn't think of that before I slapped them on. Hmmm. Maybe after the new rims come in, I'll re-visit those tints

Re: Help blacking out new Altitude

I have gotten my vinyl from vinalgiant.com

I just blacked out my window trim over the weekend.

I also have the plastic on my rails color matched, but I also had the chrome rail powder coated black like Crimsonking's and looks pretty awesome.

Many thank!
How much do you recommend ordering to do the window trim?

I take it this is the stuff you ordered-
3M Scotchprint® Wrap Film Series 1080 | Gloss Black | VinylGiant.com

yup thats the stuff. i had enough 3ft by 5ft. if you know what you're doing i'd go with that, but if you think you're going to mess up some pieces i'd order a little more.

also, i would make templates of the curved parts of the trim at least, makes it much easier.

the straight parts of the trim are easier because they are straight.

I blacked out the window trim on my 15 Altitude using the 3M 1080 gloss black vinyl purchased from Amazon. Best advice I can offer is do the front windows in three sections matching the vinyl up with the chrome pieces. Also use a fresh, sharp razor and I really liked the felt wrapped squeegee I bought as well. I tried to do the front window in one piece and it was a bitch to get around the mirror. I also did the rear window in two pieces. Get more than you think you'll need. This was the first time I had wrapped anything myself and made some mistakes that I had to re-do, like the front windows.
