Help - How to remove tail light plugs, not entire socket

I picked up a set of the SRT tail lights and am trying to swap them, but for the life of me can't figure out how to undo just the plugs from the light socket.

I pull the red tabs in the image below, but the dang things won't budge. What else am I missing??

TIA

I don't want to take the light out; I'm trying to get the plug off of the light socket.

Re: Help - How to remove tail light plugs, not entire socket

I just did this on my 2008. I installed a trailer hitch t-harness that goes between the plug and the bulb socket. You lift the red clips up and the pigtail should just pull off the bulb socket. Mine came off easily. There may be a little tab or something that needs to be lifted or pressed but it came off easily.

Re: Help - How to remove tail light plugs, not entire socket

There is a black tab you have to squeeze; the red tab, when pushed in, keeps the black tab from being squeezed. Often easier to get the black tab to release by slightly pushing the connector "into" the socket.
