HID Balllast

Hey all. First post. Like the site, Love the Jeep. Anyway, I just ordered a HID kit from XenonDepot. Hoping to see some pics where you have mounted your ballasts. Seen a few through searching but would be a little easier to see them in one post. Thanks.

I'm also looking for any sort of guide to install HID. I ordered two DDM kits.

Re: HID Balllast

The passenger side is the easiest. Most people will tell you to unplug the main connectors to gain hand access but all you have to do in unlatch the entire assemble on the thinger (not sure its name) and it slides up and out the way:

The passenger side is a bit more tricky. I have smaller hands and only small hands i promise, and was able to only have to remove the top of the air box to get access to the bulb from the top.

Thankfully I have small hands.

What did you connect the ballasts to?

I have 4 because I did both the running lights and fogs. Although I prefer always using a screw to mount them to a surface (liek the driver side locations) the two on the passenger sides were so secure even without the provided 3M tape I just used it for good measure to ensure no movement.

Re: HID Balllast

Awesome, that helps. I have 4 coming as well, to do the same, with Eagle Eye headlights.

So basically just have to screw them into any hard plastic you can find near the lights. Just wasn't sure, haven't done this before. So thank you!

Re: HID Balllast

Actually, looks like double sided tape on the ballasts. Even better

You can literally put them where ever you want. I like keeping them high in location to keep away from road debris/water that might happen to splash up from the road even thought that is unlikely.

I used the provided 3M tape on the ballistics that I didn't mount to the body via self tapping screw.
