HID Fog light question

Hello everyone I am new to this forum as well as being a new Jeep owner.
I have a few questions if anyone can help, I purchased a New 2015 GC Limited with Lux ii package last week and I would like to match the Fog Lights to my stock headlight color and I also haven't been able to find out if I need a relay to install them. thanks in advance for your help.

Re: HID Fog light question

It seems led is the way to go..many go with opt 7, Phillips and others..king of the crop is the OEM, srt fogs..look up a site vendor, xenon depot..on their site you plug in the vehicle and they can provide all options, even hid of you want that route

Re: HID Fog light question

Yes you will need some sort of relay harness or anti-flicker module otherwise you will have issues on a 2015. Like Da Jeeper said above, Im more for an LED setup as HID in fogs doesn't really seem like the best way to go for a few reasons....
First off, fog lights go off when you put the high beams on, then back on again with the low beams. Depending on how or where you drive that can be a LOT of re-starts on the HIDs and that is not good for the bulbs, ballasts, or even the wiring. Not only that but HID usually takes a couple seconds to fully warm up. The other issue is all the extra wiring and modules to go along with them would make for a somewhat complicated install.

I say go the LED route like mentioned above. MUCH cleaner, much easier, and they have been proven to produce very good output in the factory housings. If you have a little extra money to burn then without a doubt go with the oem SRT LED fogs. They are amazing!!! I did this to my 2015 High Altitude and did an extensive write up in this forum. If you don't want to go with the more expensive SRT LED fogs, then a quality H11 plug and play will work fine. You will still need the anti-flicker module though.

Re: HID Fog light question

I just installed the opt-7 LEDs in my 15 overland. I ordered them off Amazon for $99, shipping was free (ordered Tuesday delivered Friday to Michigan) and everything you need comes with the kit. Took about 15 minutes to install and they are a lot brighter than the old ones and match pretty well with the stock HID/LED.

Re: HID Fog light question

I agree...go with the OPT 7 led's...I have a 2014 GC with the HID's as well as a 2105 Durango Citadel with the HIDs...i have installed opt7's in both now and been running them for 6-7 months...no issues at all

here's what they look like

1st pic shows the opt 7's with the factory 4300K hids

2nd and 3rd pictures show my durango on the left- Stock 4300K HID headlights with Philips H11 diamond vision bulbs in fogs - My jeep GC on the right with Osram 5000K CBI headlight bulbs with OPT 7 leds
