I used a sanding barrel, be gentle I also wrapped the bulb with paper and taped it and used gloves as to not touch the glass with sweaty, oily hands. I also used a caliper to measure the other tabs for comparison , the large tab needs to be shaped to the same size or very close to fit in the small slots.

Re: HID kit for 2014 Cherokee Limited

Hey guys,

I've spend some time reading the entire post, but still confused on what bulbs needs to be used on the 2014 JGC base model. And would anyone recommend a 3000k hid kit for the fog lights?

Thanks,
Jack

I am using this kit with the phillips bulbs @ 4300k, The fellas at KB/Xenondepot have the best customer service hands down.

You can't go wrong. I am very happy with my kit. You can also PM xenondepot with questions and they will answer and help you out.

kinsJGC: You would need to order the H11 fitment for the fogs. I personally run 3000k on my vehicle. I find that 3000k (yellow HID) work great in rain/fog/snow.

peejym: Thanks for the kind words

What exactly do I have to order for a 2014 Limited. I was looking at the H11 for my low beam 4300k. Anyone have any picture of install? Do I have to remove the bumper?

You need to read this entire thread that you posted in, along with this one: 2014 Grand Cherokee HID Kit Installation. Should give you everything you need to know to tackle this installation. I'm running the XD H11 4300K kit on my lows; been very pleased with it! I'm also a proponent of removing the bumper cover to do this installation - some have done it from up top, but it's not as bad as one would imagine to just remove the bumper and have easy, unobstructed access to everything.

As Northland mentioned you would need to order a H11 HID kit, You can go with either our Xtreme HID kit or Volt HID kit. If you use coupon code "MOPARHID" not only do you get $25 off but you also get the Capacitors that you need for this installation at no charge.

You can also review the installation steps post here: http://www.jeepgarage.org/f176/f176/...ion-58703.html.

Hope that helps.

Re: HID kit for 2014 Cherokee Limited

Just received my kit. Took USPS like 5 days to leave Chicago for some reason.

Looks good to me. If I can get my headlights working properly with the TRS kit, I will put the XD kit in the fogs. And preliminary report shows I may have a bad ballast from TRS. I plugged XD's kit in place, with TRS Mopar harness and that bulb fired right now.

I wont know for sure until tomorrow night.

Sorry about the delay! It sounds like it was held in customs for a random inspection. Let us know if you have any questions.

Is there a HID kit for the fog lights too? If so which one?

Thanks!

Assuming you have the '14, the foglights are the same bulb as the headlights. So you just use the same kit. I was told by XD that you need the harness and canbus for the foglights too.

Yes there is, you can get the same HID kit for your fog lights as they use the same H11 bulbs if you have a 2014 Grand Cherokee.
