Re: HID kit for 2014 Cherokee Limited

Well, I've had my Xtreme kit for a little over a week now and it's been great. It works!

Question. What size bolt do I use for the ballast? I see the holes are threaded.

Re: HID kit for 2014 Cherokee Limited

Great Forum! New to Jeep Life!

Ready to go for an install here. Willing to attempt the install without removing the bumper... But.. IF I need to (fat hands here)... Is there a "How-To" or Step-By-Step (preferably with pics) around that shows how to remove the bumper? Thanks in advance!

So do you HAVE to file the tabs on the H11 Phillips bulbs?

Geez,, Can't something sold just be plug & play without all these issues!

My kit unopened might be headed back to Canada..

You do not have to. I did because it was bothering me, you might not even noticed it. And this has nothing to do with the product but the way jeep mounted their light socket.

If you have a 2014, you will likely have to file. As other members have said, it's because Chrysler changed the orientation on the sockets/bulbs. Filing takes like 30 seconds and its really not a big deal...

The kits themselves are solid. Had zero problems with defective bulbs or components. The "issues" are more because of the "DIY" nature of the install -- but that's also part of the fun!

If you're not a DIY kind of guy then this isn't for you.

I haven't filed either.

Do you happen to have a picture of what the shadow looked like prior to filing.

And you are right, the kits are awesome.

Thanks

Re: HID kit for 2014 Cherokee Limited

Question, Ive recently got my Can-bus HID kit installed in the headlights and fog lights but for some reason my DRL's arent working. I called the shop where i got them installed and they said it could be that they didnt install a relay kit. Will that fix the problem for the DRL's? They work fine when i turn them on and leave them on the whole time im using my jeep but once i turn them off while in drive i cant turn them back on, i would have to put it in park then turn them on which is strange.
