Re: HID kit for 2014 Cherokee Limited

Ah, thank you. Ordering now

Do I need the canbus fix for hid fogs as well? Or just the low beams?

Hey I do but it's only from about 8feet away from the garage with the fogs(factory lights) on.

Hope this helps.

As far as we know, the fog lights do not require a relay harness or canbus but this is all based on the 2011-2013 model. So far it sounds like the 2014 runs the same way.

Thank you. Can you please clarify though, I need a relay harness and a canbus fix for the headlamps. Or just the canbus fix.

Thank you

Your going to need a relay harness and a canbus for the headlights.

Sorry if this is just a newbie question - is this low beam only?

Thanks

On the '14...yes. Low beam only. The high beams use a different bulb. 9006 I believe.

Re: HID kit for 2014 Cherokee Limited

Are the high beams worth doing? Or not?

I just got out of a BMW 750i and I loved that it had both Hi and Lo Beam HID's. But if the Hi beam isn't a projector, it would probably have a sloppy light pattern, right? Maybe then, just a really nice white hi beam bulb? Any suggestions?

Also - I'm thinking of doing a yellow (3000k) HID fog light. Has anyone done this yet?

Thanks

Do you use your high beams often? To be honest often we don't recommend installing HID's in your high beams. The reason is because HID bulbs have a warm up period so if your using them to flash to pass or switching from low to high then the light would take 20-20 seconds to completely lit up. Your better off getting Performance halogens bulbs to match your low beam HID kit.

As for the fog lights, if your looking to get the best results out of them then the 3000K is a great choice but its not for everyone.

Here is an example of the 3000K HID kit installed in the fog lights...

Re: HID kit for 2014 Cherokee Limited

I've got hid's and a Mopar specific harness from The Retrofit Source. Still, only one light works...

I've done install this without removing the front bumbler, there is plenty of clearance.
