Re: HID kit for 2014 Cherokee Limited

[QUOTE=VPExhaust;814927]peejym - Here are some photos for you:

Thank you for the pics and walk through. I am more confident in the ease of installing the kit now. I will skip the Lux package for sure now, I just really wanted the lights, but these will work for me. Where did you mount the ballasts? It looks like the relays are mounted with tape? Thank you!

Re: HID kit for 2014 Cherokee Limited

A bit of a long read but you might want to make sure that your relays are properly sealed:

Should you use a relay with HID kits? - Drive Accord Honda Forums

We used to use similar relays in our kits but due to moisture issues we upgraded to relays that are soldered onto a PCB which is encased in an ABS plastic casing and sealed with epoxy.

Nice writeup and pics VPExhaust....but my question is - your truck isn't a 2014 based on the pics of the front end you posted. Is that the exact same install for the 2014? Are there any changes that people are away of which would make it necessary for bumper removal??

Wow, good catch. I did not even pay attention since I was so stoked someone was posting pics of an install for a 2014 without having to remove the bumper, bummer . Well seems nikon858 has done one but not as pictured detailed as VPExhaust. Guess I will have to get the kit and go in diggin on my own.

Please let us know how it goes. I can't believe any manufacturer makes you remove a bumper to replace a halogen bulb so hopefully there is enough access for us.

Re: HID kit for 2014 Cherokee Limited

I found the same door in the passenger front wheel well the other day when I was washing my '14. I assumed that was for headlight access, but wasn't quite certain. I'm pretty sure now, though, that's what it was for. May have to just pull it out and see for myself. Aside from that, I don't know why installation would be any different. Engine bay looks to be about the same.

Re: HID kit for 2014 Cherokee Limited

I did the install on my 14 Limited with out removing the bumper, i removed the air box and the metal panel attached to the fuse box, the air box just pulls out and the metal box is just one push tab on top and you can slide it up and move it to one side, I also used the battery relay and have had no issues with errors or flickering

No problem, like I said I was to eager to find photos of an install on what I thought was a 2014. I do however thank you for the time you took to post your install with pictures
