Re: Hid/ Led kit 15-altitude

Thanks for all the info guys. I think I'm just going to go the bulb swap route. I miss having HID's but giving those jokers at the dealers any reason to not "service" my car is the last headache I want.

I read @antsjeep buyback nightmare in a few threads since I've joined. Altough rare, I personally don't want to chance any issues my Jeep. As always, thank you all for sharing your knowledge.

Those osram and Phillips bulbs you mentioned. You think anyone here has posted pics of them in use?

Re: Hid/ Led kit 15-altitude

i have a question ? what is difference between HIDs and LEDs ? can i use leds for low beam ? is there any diff by the output of light? as i know hids are ~3500-4000lm and the cree leds are not much less by 3500lm :/

LEDs are easier to install. They're plug and play. HIDs not so much. Depending on the led brand you might not get a lot of light. Because we have halogen projectors some people haven't had a lot of success with getting increased light output through leds, while others have. In the future I know this will change. I have hids and I love them. Beam pattern is great. I honestly prefer LEDs as it would be a simple bulb swap, then you can't get screwed over on your warranty. I will say this to anyone that wants to install hids, get them done professionally, installation took about an hour maybe less. If there's ever a problem I know I can just remove them

Re: Hid/ Led kit 15-altitude

LEDs would make no difference to the dealer, if it's not a halogen bulb you have no argument.

I never mentioned that I also had H11 LED bulbs from V-LEDS installed in my fogs. Those too raised flags as well. It's just not worth the aggravation IF anything happens.

I will fight that battle with the dealer if it ever comes up. They have to prove that whatever issue is happening is caused by the aftermarket parts. They don't get to say that because you installed HID lights your can't get your transmission fixed under warranty.
I value seeing into the ditches and road more because it could mean the life of everyone in the vehicle.

I find it very disturbing that the factory lights are as horrible as they are.
To me its borderline dangerous.

The symptoms my 2014 GC had were solely electrical, hence the blame game about the HID and LED fog bulbs.

@antsjeep What are your thoughts on Philips Crystal Vision Ultras and osram nightbreakers??? Lately I'm considering giving the car back later on and financing a V8.
