Re: HID lows and fogs done!

I just received my girlfriends set for her jeep and only ordered the cancelers for the lows. Thought I read somewhere that the fogs didn't need it? I'm assuming I need to order another set?

Re: HID lows and fogs done!

I'm thinking of doing HID lows and fogs - took off the bumper cover last week to install an air horn; the cover is extremely easy for one person to remove. All you need is some type of plastic rivet kit to reinstall it; I got one from Harbor Freight for $16.00.

Questions on the Zenex HID kit - 1.) I've read on other HID sites that putting HIDs in the fog lights of a '14 Grand Cherokee will cause the fog light housing to melt - anyone experience this? 2.) Can you run DRLs with this kit, or do they have to be turned off in Settings?

Re: HID lows and fogs done!

Just ordered an HID kit for the fogs, so if we are running the risk of melting the housing let me know not to install them.

Re: HID lows and fogs done!

DDM tuning in my opinion is one of the best HID kits on the market in its price range. I've used them on my past two cars and now my '14 altitude and my wife's '13 Altima. Love their kits!!

Our GC's require the error code eliminators.

Re: HID lows and fogs done!

Just an update, the HID's from amazon were crap. I ended up replacing every ballast at least once and then they would just die again. Don't know why as they worked fine on other cars.

I bought two kits from xenondepot and everything has been mostly trouble free without the use of any relays.
Only issues I've been having is bad connections in the weatherpack connectors on the canbus fixes. One had such a bad connection that it melted the connector, hard wiring it solved the issue. I'm still using the original bulbs from amazon.

Re: HID lows and fogs done!

The 2014 Grand Cherokees require a relay harness and capacitors for both headlights and foglights.
