HID Problem, need help!

I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Alttitude, I decided to install a HID kit. The problem is kind of strange, if i start the car and turn the headlights on right away they will work fine, but if i let the car run for a while, wether it be with the autostarter or just driving around, they wont turn on. Also I think i've noticed a slight random flicker while driving with them on.

I have tried 2 HID kits and both had the same results, one kit had ballast with built in CANBUS, the other with the CANBUS seperate, i am using a relay. I've tried it with and without the relays and canbus's, ive tested all the bulbs, ballast and connections. Nothing seems to fix the problem and its driving me nutty.

Please help. Thank you.

Re: HID Problem, need help!

If using a separate Canbus adapter make sure it is between the relay harness and factory connector. If it isn't in that location it won't work properly. You will need to use the relays as well.

Re: HID Problem, need help!

Are you using any additional components or just the LED headlight bulbs?

Sounds like you haven't disabled your DRLs.

Re: HID Problem, need help!

do they both dim at the same time?

Are you using the relay harness and capacitors, or just the relay harness?

Yes they dim at the same time right now I'm using relay harness and capacitors..with just capacitors they would both turn off after driving a little while but there was no dimming effect

Re: HID Problem, need help!

Hi,

Can you confirm where you have the capacitors installed?

They can be plugged into two different places.

Re: HID Problem, need help!

Have you tried it without the relays? I have hid lows and fogs with no relays and they work perfect.

Also does this happen when the vehicle is not on?
