Just a quick question. I am going to be getting some HID's installed today and had a few quick questions before I pull the trigger:
1) The installer is giving me 2x options. The first option is install a standard HID kit with a relay or install a CanBus compliant ballast and direct wire. Seems like mixed reviews on the site but need to know before I go for the install in a few hours. I would prefer the Canbus ballast as it is less wires and a much cleaner install.
2) I want to install the same 6000k HID lights into the fogs as well. Installing them is not the issue, my concern is the housing and plastic around the fixture. Will that get destroyed from the heat off the HID.
PS: Replacing Halogen w/ HID.
Thanks again for your help guys (and Gals!) as I want to get it all setup before I head down there. Thanks!
Re: HID Question - Installation Today - Need Help!!
the problem with HID's on the fogs isnt the heat produced from the HID's as they produce less heat than halogens. Its the length of the HID bulbs compared to the 5202 bulb. The HID bulb is longer and therefore is closer to the lense of the lamp.
