I purchased a 2011 WK2 Laredo X package a few weeks ago. The one feature of the Limited+ trim that I really wanted was the HID headlamps. I love the clean white/bluish light look I think it really makes the vehicle stand apart at night.
Now, I know I could go and purchase the OEM headlamps from the Limited Trim for around $900 plus installation fees. To me, this is just too steep. Alternately, I also do not want to be the guy that puts HID bulbs into a reflector housing and blinds everyone on the road. Plus, it looks tacky.
So, my question: Does anyone have experience installing high end Halogen bulbs to approximate that "HID Look"? I'm really just looking for a bright white/bluish look to replace the standard "yellow" light output on the vehicle. The only product I'm aware of is the Sylvania SilverStar bulb.(http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...ce/Silverstar/
). Has anyone installed these? How does it look? I'm assuming it would look just like an HID, only less bright.
