HID vs. LED kit

Need some opinions please. Does anyone on here have an LED kit or know of anyone who does? If so do they have any problems with it? Currently have an HID and one headlight keeps going out having some issues. What is the difference between the two? Want something bright but I want something that works! Thanks in advance.

Re: HID vs. LED kit

Tell us what YEAR your truck is and what type of headlight you have. Projector or reflector.

HID is basically reliable but when you talk about retrofits there are many variables such as the quality of the components used, or the level of care that was put into the installation.

LED retro fits are still an emerging technology and relies heavily on the focus and optics.

have the HID ballasts checked make sure the ballasts are mounted securely and all the connections are secure and water tight

Re: HID vs. LED kit

It's a 2015. I have the projector headlights but they are not the HID bi Xeneon like on the summit and overland models. That's why I want the brighter headlights. Well we believe the ballast could be bad. Tested the voltage to make sure there is enough power and there is. I just wanted to know between the two is one better than the other? Just want a product that's going to work. Thanks

Re: HID vs. LED kit

with the 2015 you will either need to run a relay harness plus CAN BUS anti flicker modules.

or some Diode Dynamics CAN BUS for the '15 ram which would allow you to not have to use the relay harness.

Re: HID vs. LED kit

Do you still make wiring harness for jeep grand Cherokee wk2 so the 2014 srt led headlights can work on 2011 jeep grand cherokee. I try to go on projectoretrofit.com but the site has nothing on there. Is it shutdown?
