Well quit typing and get yo ass out there and report back! And don't forget to disable light blink with unlock and lock in the evic to lessen the burden on the ballasts.
Well I hope no news is good news

I installed HID's (high and low beams); my Jeep must use the high beam at lower power for the DRL's, but with the HID's, it runs them at full power.

I have tried pulling the relays with no such luck. I have read that the use of a Star scan tool may work, but I really don't want to dish out that sort of cash.

I live in Canada where DRL's are mandatory, and I haven't tried yet but I doubt the dealer would help me, as others on this site have already tried.

If anyone has any suggestions that would be great.

Thanks.

Can you confirm something for me?

US Laredo with AW Pack have, the Low beam H11 bulbs as the DRL.

So you are saying that your Canadian spec Laredo with DRL uses the 9005 High beam bulbs for the DRLs? Can some other Canadian spec owner confirm this?

*NOTE* Since DRLs are required in Canada the Dealer won't accept the liability for turning them off for you. On the laredos the CAN activates the headlights indepentently of the switch so there are no relays the you can revove. All WK2 are built in a modular way, meaning that the relays are wired up on the right shock tower and receive power but they have no output unless your car was coded as being equipped with Bi-xenon headlights so your only option would be find a capacitor pack that would increase the voltage to a sufficient amount to run the ballast or you will literally have to wire a switch to cut power to the inlet power line of your ballast. (you can do this easily by making a little adapter wire between the headlight harness and the ballast relay harness.)

I can confirm a 2014 Laredo with the AWG uses the h11 low beams as drl's. Even if they are still activated a relay harness should cause them to work fine as a drl and normal headlight.

Re: HID's and DRL's

Okay so he must have confused the wires the low and high beam wires some how, cuz I can understand why Jeep would use the H11 Low beams on the US spec and the 9005 High beams on a Canadian spec for DRLs.

Maybe he used the right low beam circuit to trigger the lowbeam relay harness

and used the other left low beam circuit to trigger the High beam relay harness which may be why they are working as DRLs now.

Dmak can you give us some background on how your car is configured.

I am just guessing at this point.

Re: HID's and DRL's

I guess it's possible some wires are connected improperly, but wouldn't that be pretty obvious at night, as in my highs are my lows and lows are my highs, which is not the case. But I may be mistaken.

As for vehicle configuration, I'm not sure what you need. I have a 2012 Laredo X with halogen head light assemblies. I have installed two VVME hid kits with two seperate relay harness's.

As for the low bean DRL lights, I couldn't tell you. I didn't have the vehicle long before I switched to the HID's I may need to switch back to the halogens just to figure that out.

Thanks again for your help.
