Yeah I might consider the black lugs thanks for the recommendation.

Re: High Altitude chrome window trim wrapped.

Had the same place do my front grill in gloss black, window trim gloss black and side view mirrors- matte black(was planning to eventually replace that with colored mirror covers) in IL on my 14 Limited awhile back. has been 8 months since I've had it through winter and multiple auto car washes, hand washes has held up great. for the price it was worth it. It worked well with the Limited black trim.

It may not be 100% oem quality as like you said if you look up extremly close right at the corners where wrapping would be difficult you may see some imperfection on the trim but not noticeable at all from walking distance. But compared to the cost to actually get similar results it was 100% worth it. if you need to touch it up it will be far cheaper than you think if it starts to peel at the edges, but that probable wont happened 6-7years down the line especially if garage kept and hand washed which would last longer. Mind you my jeep was parked outside in the elements.

Re: High Altitude chrome window trim wrapped.

So I had some time to kill today so I stopped by one of the nearby dealers. They had plenty of High Altitudes in stock and I gotta say, I cannot believe how this black window trim transforms the entire vehicle. As subtle of a mod it is, it was really weird looking at a High Altitide with chrome window trim since I am now used to my black trim for a week now. Black window trim is absolutely 100% a must on the HA!!! Zero regrets getting mine wrapped...incase any of you are on the fence, it for sure should have come from the factory that way. The vinyl looks pretty much perfect and it almost seems like it has improved now that's it's baked in the sun. A couple very minor imperfections or areas that weren't seated fully now are. Love it!!

X-treme Graphics & Lettering, Inc. In Lombard IL off 355. 200 bucks even, took a little over 2 hours.

Re: High Altitude chrome window trim wrapped.

Anyone interested in wrapping the trim themselves you can pick up some 3" wide vinyl at shadowlinetrim.com. It cost about $50 for two 3" x 30' roles and shipping.

I have never wrapped or even attempted wrapping anything before. It took me about 30-45min to get the hang of it, but once I did it was a breeze and then took about 45min per side. There are two spots that are a challenge - Under the mirrors and around the front and back lower corners. The corners is where you'll likely have a seam. With the 3" rolls you can cut them in half to reduce usage. I probably have 15' left for some fixes I'll do.

The other thing, let your GC sit in the sun say over lunch or a few hours and the heat will really smooth out any blemishes you might have.

I had attempted to plastidip the trim several months back and this is way, way easier and less time consuming.

I'll add some close up photos.

I've got a seam on each of the corners, but like the OP said if you're not on top of it and looking for it you'd never notice.

What did you do to your WK2 today?
