High Altitude - different roof rails

While I was looking at a '15 High Altitude model this week on the lot I noticed that the roof rails are different than those on all of the other Grand Cherokee models.

They are all plastic and don't have the metal rail part.

I have the Mopar cross bars but apparently I won't be able to use them on the HA?

Re: High Altitude - different roof rails

Correct. The HA has the roof rail delete option. Same as the regular Altitude and SRT. It's more or less just sleeker and a little sportier looking without rails up there.
As it stands no you won't be able to use your rails, but they are easily interchangeable. If you want to trade let me know. I will never use the rails on my Summit and I prefer the sleeker look :-)

Oh cool! Thanks for the info. I might just take you up on that.

Re: High Altitude - different roof rails

There are some roof racks that can be used with the lopro rails, but not the factory ones. Some guy in the SRT section recently added crossbars and a roof box to his lo-pro rails.

I have a 2012 Altitude with the roof rail delete option and have been wanting to change them out. Will gladly trade if you want.

Re: High Altitude - different roof rails

Too bad they didn't delete them completely. Would've been a much easier wax job. Think I'd swap and maybe black out the chrome on the Summit ones. Personally I think they look very tacky. Not trying to offend anyone, just honest opinion.
